Description

This rod starts with a seven foot, one-piece, thin wall, E-Glass blank. It is cut into two pieces and a high quality spigot ferrule and post is added. This ferrule is used in high-end fly rods because of its strength and flexibility. What makes this rod unique from most other rods is the spiral wrapped guides. The middle three guides rotate the line from the top of the blank underneath, so that the tip of the rod is down like a spinning rod. Simply stating: When the reel is facing up, the tip is facing down. This allows the action of a spinning rod at the tip but the benefit of a casting reel. When the rod is loaded, this eliminates line rub on the blank that is common in casting rods. Custom rod makers have been making these for years.
